Okay, the title makes this article sound kind of morbid, but I promise you, it is anything BUT morbid! I had the honor and privilege of getting together with a couple local photographers and having some shooting fun! It *just so happens* that one is expecting her baby boy in a few weeks, so of course, I had to get some belly shots! Thank you Stephanie, for letting me capture that gorgeous belly of yours, and I can't wait to meet little Liam!! I also shot with Jamee, who is awesomesauce and can't wait to shoot with them again!! <3 Yeah...we didn't have much fun, at all... ;0)

"Dear Natalie, As I received my beautiful pack of prints today from you, I look at my walls in utter disappointment! Now, this disappointment is in myself, not you! I remember you saying when we ordered these, that 8x10 prints can be a lot smaller when you get them on the wall, then how they look in a catalog. Well, you were SO correct!!! I am so so so glad I decided to order again from you, and I am LOVING my 30x40 print I got. It is truly amazing, and makes my house so bright and gorgeous! I also have had many compliments on it. Thank you for your professional input on prints. Next time, I will listen to you first! :) Love always, K" For all you visual learners (that's me too!), I have now put up a visual of what your print will look like above your couch in your living room. This will give you a great idea of how small an 8x10 really is...and how lovely that 30x40 will look in YOUR house! **Hey!!! Mention this blog, and receive 10% off your large print order!!**
You know...I have cringed every time I go to write this post...but I know it needs to happen....someday. Will this be the most embarrassing blog post in Natalie Bee's history? Yes, most likely. Will it show everyone how far you can come by working hard and practicing? YES!!! There is a wonderful saying I saw on Pinterest the other day..."Great things come to those who never give up and work their asses of", and it's totally, utterly true. I have been in business for NOT EVEN A YEAR (...and loving every minute of it) and I have already come so far, it's crazy! Am I a GREAT photographer? Well, that's in who you are asking...but if you are asking me, I would say, "No! But I would like to be someday", and hopefully that day will come. For now, I practice, grow, learn, experience, love. You better not laugh at me! Yes, spot color was ALL THE RAGE when I first started (no, it was not...I just thought it was...) so no snickering at my editing skills!
I want to laugh, cry, and huddle in a corner while sucking my thumb, when I see the image on the left. What. The. Hell. was I thinking...? I ruined this little girl's amazingly beautiful skin color!! Well, you learn from your mistakes and never do them again! Okay, okay...insert laugh out loud ---->here<---- And thank you to all the past clients who let me practice on them before I actually started my business. I apologize for my skill level in the past, and hope you can learn how to forgive me...someday! ;-) I am over-joyed to be able to bring you a few amazing nursing sessions, to support Breastfeeding Awareness Month in August...and along with them, my most favorite breastfeeding quotes. "A newborn baby has only three demands. They are warmth in the arms of its mother, food from her breasts, and security in the knowledge of her presence. Breastfeeding satisfies all three." ~Grantly Dick-Read "Breastfeeding is a mother's gift to herself, her baby and the earth." ~Pamela K. Wiggins "The moment she had laid the child to the breast, both became perfectly calm." ~Isak Dinesen "Nursing does not diminish the beauty of a woman's breasts; it enhances their charm by making them look lived in and happy." ~Robert A. Heinlein "It is only in the act of nursing that a woman realizes her motherhood in visible and tangible fashion; it is a joy of every moment." ~Honore de Balzac
I was super giddy when I was able help Brandon and Jessica celebrate their 5 years together as a married couple, with family portraits! What a gorgeous family, and two amazingly sweet girls!!!!
I was so fortunate on my Oregon trip, to see so many old friends of mine, that I have not seen since I moved away 10 years ago! I finally got to see my very dear friend, Whitney, and her new mini-me, Aiva Grea... Aiva even has a cute little protector, who absolutely loves her...
I had the HUGE pleasure, and honor, of working with two fellow photographers, Eva from Grape Soda Photography, and Lexi from 3rdDay Photography, on a very special project, close to all of our hearts... And without further ado, here is my very first guest blog, on Grape Soda Photography, about the wonders of breastfeeding and how important it is to capture those moments... Thank you Eva and Lexi, for being awesomeness :)
I was so honored and happy when a dear friend, from FRESHMAN YEAR of high school, got ahold of me and wanted me to do family pictures with her and her son! I had not seen her in a little over 10 years. Well, although the hair color and the clothing has changed a bit, she really hasn't changed much. She still is vibrant and sweet, so is her little boy... I was pretty lucky to snag a client that loved Star Wars as much as I did, as well :)
