As some of you well know, I am quite the redhead adorer...especially on a newborn!! Oh, sweet Mason, with your adorable scrunchy face and that killer red hair...you totally made my day. <3
Not only was your mom a kick in the pants and so fun to chat with, but you were surprisingly amazing for being one of my older "newborn" clients. So, I want to thank you for that ;) Gorgeous Bristol was an absolute dream for me! She slept so incredibly well, and was very easy to pose practically any way I wanted her to! Thank goodness Mom brought her in at only a mere 5 days old, because that is my IDEAL age for a newborn session. How well she did just proves that. ...I mean...look at that smile?!? The beautiful flower headband you see? Mom had that with her and it was just perfect with my purple ruffle blanket. They also brought along daddy's Army dog tags and jacket...It only seemed fitting that we honor what he does for this country, and snuggle his little girl up in his things. If you would like to book your Half Price newborn session before it ends on May 31st, please email me: [email protected]
This beautiful baby girl slept great for me! Although she wouldn't pose *just* like a newborn, at a mere 4 weeks herself, but close enough...oh, and she had the cutest chin I have ever seen on a baby. Ever.
I don't like to post *too* many personal things, but it's nice to get them up, so my clients get to know me a bit better and to see my son's life through the camera lens... He will be turning 2 in June. Where has the time gone?? :( I am starting to plan his birthday party, which will, of course, be The Lorax themed...it is the "peace-bringer" in my house and he LOVES it. Only thing that will make him sit down for more than 5 minutes, which helps mama out a ton! Balen rode his first tricycle this past week and was very proud. He also threw a complete hissy-fit when I took him off... I win "Mother-of-the-Year Award". This is my view most of the weekday, which I am so blessed to have. Being a work at home mother is one of the hardest, and most rewarding things I have ever done and I never want to change it! Watching my son thrive and learn so much, is literally the best feeling in the world. Totally indescribable. He now knows the full ABC's, 1 through 10, and a large handful of words, including "car", "truck", "food", "please", "thank you", and "poop". ;) I HAVE THE SWEETEST PIT BULLS IN THE WORLD. Just sayin'.... My morning cuppa Joe: Quad-shot Vanilla latte, either iced or hot, depending on the weather and my mood: Totally a random personal post, but meh, it's kinda like me: Random.
In celebration of my very own natural light photography studio, I am offering all newborn sessions half off! From March 1st to May 31st of 2013, you can purchase any 3 of my newborn session packages at this awesome discount, experience one of a kind portraiture in my new studio, and have the session be valid through the whole year! This is also a great time to purchase a gift certificate for a baby shower gift. Were you referred by someone that has previously had a session with me? Mention their name, and you receive an additional 15% off, while they get $50 credit for their next session. I literally shudder at the mere thought of these being out on the internet. Honestly...it makes me sick. But you know what? I WISH I would have seen more photographers do this when I was starting out... Open up to their followers, because well, we were all beginners at some point! I wish more photographers would show everyone how far they have come, not to say "Hey, come look how good I look" (Ron Burgundy voice of course), but to say... "Hey, you CAN improve and succeed!" No longer doubt yourself or compare yourself to others. Neither of those things will get you to your goal. Chin up, work hard, and soak in all the knowledge you possibly can. I still have a very long way until I meet my goal of the "ideal" photographer, but I am happy to see how much has changed in a year and a half. I am still working on my "style" and learning what makes my business work more efficiently and better for my incredible clients. These things take a lot of time, so don't worry if it has yet to fall into place for you. There is a wise man named Mumford...he and his Sons once said... "Get over your hill and see what you'll find there, with grace in your heart and flowers in your hair..." :) This amazing squishy baby girl was such an incredible dreamer for me! I could pose her better than most newborns I have had to work with. Don't get me wrong, I love a good challenge, but it was so fun being able to get in and out of posing and setups easily! Although her mommy didn't have the opportunity for "newborn" pictures, I hope she can think this as close enough :) Introducing...7 week-old Madison! <3 HAPPY BELATED EASTER, by the way... ;) Madison not only slept incredibly well, but then, all of the sudden, she was awake again!
Little mama was totally bright-eyed and bushy-tailed! Diaper Drive for Inland NW Baby's 'Stuff the Bus' event - Spokane, Washington Newborn Photographer4/1/2013 I believe in Karma, plain and simple. I believe that giving back to those less fortunate than us, is not only personally fulfilling, but a necessity for each and every one of us. Giving back is much easier than you expect! While working with Inland NW Baby (if you are local to Spokane and have not looked into what they are doing to help our community, you should check it out), I have found out that nearly 25% of Spokane children go day-to-day without their basic living needs met. This means that almost a quarter of the kids in my town go everyday with maybe 1 diaper, a hungry belly, or no socks and shoes. This absolutely breaks my heart and makes this effort that much more important... I am holding a diaper drive for this year's 'Stuff The Bus' event, held by Inland NW Baby, to help diaper babies local to Eastern Washington. Natalie Bee's goal: 1,000 (although I would LOVE to reach over that) Inland NW Baby goal: 100,000 This diaper drive is for disposable diapers, even already opened packs are just fine! Sizes 5 and 6 are needed most, but all sizes are incredibly appreciated. Together, we can make such a huge difference in so many children and families in this area.
